Please read these terms carefully before booking your surprise adventure with Unexpectifly

0 General Information

These terms and conditions ("Terms") govern your use of Unexpectifly's services. By booking a trip with us, you agree to these Terms in full.

Important: Please ensure you read and understand all sections before proceeding with your booking.

1 Introduction

1.1 Our Service

Unexpectifly organizes surprise and customized trips. This means that for a surprise trip, the traveler will only receive the destination and accommodation details shortly before departure.

1.2 Applicability

These general terms and conditions apply to all travel agreements between Unexpectifly and the traveler.

1.3 Acceptance

By booking a trip with Unexpectifly, the traveler accepts these terms.

1.4 Modifications

Deviations from these terms are only valid if Unexpectifly has confirmed them in writing.

2 Definitions

For the purposes of these Terms, the following definitions apply:

Unexpectifly: The travel organizer and service provider.
Traveler: Any person who books a trip with Unexpectifly.
Main booker: The person who books a trip on behalf of themselves and/or fellow travelers.
Agreement: The travel agreement between Unexpectifly and the traveler.
Surprise trip: A trip where the traveler only receives the destination and details shortly before departure.

3 Booking Process

3.1 Booking Confirmation

A booking is only confirmed when Unexpectifly has received payment and sent written confirmation to the traveler.

3.2 Information Requirements

The traveler must provide accurate and complete information during the booking process, including but not limited to personal details, dietary requirements, and accessibility needs.

3.3 Age Requirements

Travelers must be at least 18 years old to book a trip. Minors may travel with written consent from a parent or guardian.

4 Trip Details and Surprises

4.1 Surprise Element

For surprise trips, destination details will be revealed 24-48 hours before departure. Basic information such as climate and packing suggestions will be provided in advance.

4.2 Customization Requests

Special requests and preferences will be accommodated where possible, but cannot be guaranteed for surprise trips.

4.3 Travel Documents

Travelers are responsible for ensuring they have valid travel documents, including passports and visas where required.

5 Pricing and Inclusions

5.1 Price Inclusions

Unless otherwise stated, trip prices include accommodation, transportation, and activities as specified in the booking confirmation.

5.2 Additional Costs

Personal expenses, meals not specified, travel insurance, and optional activities are not included unless explicitly stated.

5.3 Price Changes

Prices are fixed at the time of booking, except in cases of significant changes in taxes, fuel costs, or exchange rates.

6 Changes and Modifications

6.1 Changes by Traveler

Changes to bookings may be possible subject to availability and additional charges. Change fees will apply as outlined in the booking terms.

6.2 Changes by Unexpectifly

Unexpectifly reserves the right to make minor changes to itineraries. Significant changes will be communicated immediately with options for alternatives or refunds.

7 Payment and Guarantee

7.1 STO Garant

To comply with the legally required guarantee, Unexpectifly uses STO Garant. You can verify this via the STO Garant participants page (www.sto-garant.nl/deelnemers). All information about STO Garant can be found at www.sto-garant.nl.

For each travel offer from Unexpectifly, it will be clearly stated whether the STO Garant guarantee applies. The guarantee scheme explains what the guarantee entails and which conditions apply.

You can find this guarantee scheme on the STO Garant website (www.sto-garant.nl/downloads).

If the STO Garant guarantee applies to your booking, you will not pay the travel sum to Unexpectifly, but to the third-party account of Stichting Derdengelden Certo Escrow, a payment service provider registered with De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB) and the Autoriteit Financiƫle Markten (AFM).

7.2 Payment Terms

7.2.1 Unexpectifly may require a deposit when booking. The amount of the deposit will be stated in the travel agreement.

7.2.2 The remaining amount must be paid no later than 30 days before departure.

7.2.3 If the traveler does not pay on time, Unexpectifly has the right to cancel the trip. The cancellation conditions as mentioned in article 8 will then apply.

8 Cancellation Policy

8.1 Cancellation by Traveler

Cancellation fees apply according to the following schedule:

  • More than 60 days before departure: 25% of total price
  • 31-60 days before departure: 50% of total price
  • 15-30 days before departure: 75% of total price
  • Less than 15 days before departure: 100% of total price
8.2 Cancellation by Unexpectifly

If Unexpectifly cancels a trip, travelers will receive a full refund or alternative arrangements of equal value.

9 Insurance and Liability

9.1 Travel Insurance

Travelers are strongly advised to obtain comprehensive travel insurance covering medical expenses, trip cancellation, and personal belongings.

9.2 Liability Limitations

Unexpectifly's liability is limited to the services directly provided. We are not liable for acts of third parties, natural disasters, or circumstances beyond our control.

10.1 Customer Service

For questions or concerns, please contact our customer service team through the official channels provided on our website.

10.2 Dispute Resolution

Any disputes will be resolved according to Dutch law. We encourage resolution through direct communication before pursuing legal action.

Acceptance of Terms
